Time goes by so quick that MDC is already going to celebrate its 8th anniversary and the publication of its second edition of Anchaal Magazine(Meaning Province). I am delighted to be a member of the founders of Moulvibazar districts council and a part of the Executive Committee. MDC was formed in 2008 but it has been working since 2006 as a convening committee and has also done some activities before even it was formed, that is how the years have passed by and today we are celebrating our 8th anniversary. I have been working with a team of dedicated and committed individuals in the organisation and have always appreciated their work. I have also learnt a lot from them and the respected elders of the origination who have guided us always.
As a community activist we give our voluntary time to the organisation that you have been passionate about. I have been very involved within this organisation that in the last 6 weeks I have persevered with dedication and commitment towards various tasks this includes talking to patrons over the phone and convincing them to be part of the MDC, finding new adverts, carrying out frequent meetings with committee members, and the hardest part of all was the constitution of the magazine. Nonetheless, at last MDC has published it second edition of Anchaal Magazine.
We have a clear vision to work for the greater benefit of the social, cultural and educational development of the Moulvibazar district people in the UK and in Bangladesh. We inherit a very ambitious vision to do everything however it is taking quite some time to achieve due to insufficient funding, but there is anticipation it will eventually happen. We have conducted many activities in order to achieve our goals and objectives; in past years MDC has engaged in distributing Rikshaws to poor families in Moulvibazar Districts, helped poor schools in the region, helped families in natural disaster affected areas, distributed achievement awards to talented students in the east of England region, and hosted many trips with our young children to Brighton, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, South end on sea, British library and Black pool in order to learn about various different cultures. You can also see our regular activities on our new website at www.mdcuk.org our face book and twitter pages and our YouTube channel.
I believe that you will enjoy reading the Anchaal Magazine Issue -2 just as much I have enjoyed preparing and gathering the content from various sources.
I cannot finish without recognising those that have worked with me shoulder to shoulder; the EC committee, the founder of MDC and most importantly the patron of MDC and the contributing by write-up. I am very much thankful to sponsors, supporters and well wishers, without their support it would not have been possible to publish Anchaal-2 magazine and the MDC 8th Anniversary.
