Muhammad (SAW):1001 Universal Appreciations and Interfaith
Understanding & Peace
Based on the perceptions of non-Muslims, the book uncovers the truth about the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), clarifies the reasons for misunderstanding and tension between Islam and the West and highlights the prophetic teachings which help to build unity and peace amongst interfaith communities.
Given the general lack of knowledge and misrepresentation of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) over centuries, with accusations of him being an imposter, tyrant, womaniser etc., it has contributed to a false narrative about his life, character and teachings.
Despite these misunderstandings, there have been many works by non-Muslims who have offered appreciations for Muhammad (SAW), Islam and the Qur’an. Dispelling misconceptions, I conducted a research reviewing appreciations of Muhammad (SAW) made by non-Muslims across history. This involved interviewing contemporary personalities including MPs, Lords, and Priests.
This book is a result of analysing this collective body of views refuting the age-old charges which have been levelled against him. For example, an American author Michael Hart has ranked Muhammad (SAW) as number one amongst 100 most influential persons in history. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi argued that, “the sayings of Muhammad are a treasure of wisdom not only for Muslims but for all mankind”. Rt. Hon. David Blunkett MP highlighted that “Islam means peace”. HRH Prince Charles claimed, “Islamnurturedandpreservedthequestforlearning.”MrMakoNagasawa, Harvard University, confirmed that the prophet’s multiple marriages were due to social and political reasons.
This historic publication is an extensive investigation into 1001 appreciations of those who do not follow Islam yet admire the prophet and his teachings.
